Rating Explanation

Hello all my lovely readers!

I wanted to take the time while my blog is still fairly new to explain my rating system of the books I review.
I go by a 1 through 10 rating system and my ratings are fairly simple.

10 - A perfect 10 requires the book to be exciting to read, to be laugh out loud funny or weeping hysterically. It is a book that I want to read over and over again. This is why the first book I reviewed, Easy, got a perfect 10. It is 4 days after Christmas, the day I got the book, and I have read the book a total of 3 times with plans of reading it again tonight. I have to love this book so much I think about it constantly.

9 - For a book to receive a 9,  I have to love the book just as much as a ten. The only difference is I do not spend time thinking about it after I read it. I love it and move on. I may come back and read it again but it will not be the next day.

8 - There is something I do not like about the book. It is most likely small but affects how I look at the book.

7 - There is multiple things I do not like about the book. Small things that affect how I feel about the book as a whole.

6 - I do not like a character in the book. Not in the sense that that character is the bad guy and the reader is not suppose to like them, but the fact that the character is not well written or does not fit well into the story.

5 - I do not like a character and small parts in the book combined. This makes me dislike the book considerably.

4-3 - I barely got through the book because of characters and plot lines.

2-1 - I did not get through the book at all. The rating will depend on how far I got into the book.

This is a fairly general explanation. If you have any questions about a rating of a particular book, just leave me a comment or shoot me an email and I will be happy to explain it in more detail.

Thank you all for your support!

Immortal - Gillian Shields

9 out of 10!

This book is fantastic. Evie has just enrolled in an all girls boarding school. She meets Sebastian and a relationship begins to form. There is only one problem with the school, Evie is being haunted.
There are flashbacks in this book which makes it a go to book for me. The author does an awesome job of not giving away all the answers right away. Shields twists the characters around each other so that the reader does not know who is trustworthy and who is two faced.
There is not a clear path the reader can see right away when the book begins that the story is going to take but I love the way the author weaved the past and present together.
I love Evie and Sebastian's relationship. Sebastian plays the gentlemen to a tee and I am a huge softy for the southern gentleman.
I just found out, looking for the picture for this post, that this book is actually the first in a series which makes me ecstatic because I would love to see the rest of Evie's story. I know I have said ''I love" a lot in this post but this book has so much potential that the rest of the series could be amazing and I'm not sure how else to put it. :)

Not sure when I will have the rest of the series to review but I will try my hardest to make it very soon. My next review should be up soon.

Thank you to all who have been reading already.

Hush, Hush - Becca Fitzpatrick

9 out of 10!
Hush, Hush is one of my favorite books. It begins with Nora and her new biology partner, Patch. Patch is the typical bad boy every mother warns their daughters about but Nora feels drawn to him even though he gets on her last nerve.
This book is roller coaster through out Nora's discovery of who Patch is and as the reader you do not know what is really happening and what is just in her head but Nora doesn't know either. It has good pacing for the most part and I just cannot get enough of Nora and Patch's banter. Her relationship with her best friend Vee slips a little during the book but it is because she is spending more time with Patch. I wish she Fitzpatrick would have included more of her time with Vee during the buildup of the conflict of who is stalking Nora.
I'm glad it is apart of a series but I have yet to read the others yet even though I have all three of them. I want to know what else happens between Nora and Patch.

Short one I know, I'm still getting the hang of reviewing. Another review should be up soon.

Thanks!

Easy - Tammara Webber

10 out of 10! :)

I just finished reading Easy by Tammara Webber. I got it for Christmas in my huge pile of books that I usually rake in this time of year. It took me less than six hours to read, not because I am a fast reader but because I honestly could not put it down.
The beginning sequence hooked me and I wanted to know more about the mysterious stranger who saved Jacqueline. I found it well paced and I liked how the story between Jacqueline and Lucas weaved in and out of what was going on in Jacqueline's life. It was one of the most thorough build ups to a romance I've ever read.
In most books once the romance comes to close, so to speak, so does the book. This was not the case. There was so much back story that we did not have where Lucas was concerned that once he really had Jacqueline only half of the book was gone.
The entire book had me laughing out loud and wishing Erin was my best friend. I found myself wishing I could punch Buck in the mouth and slap Kennedy across the face for being a complete jerk and not seeming to care at all about the girl who had been his girlfriend for three years.
As of writing this post, I have read this book twice and both times I sped through it loving every second of it. I wish their last semester was written about but I realize that all readers are not the romantics that I am but I'm glad the Epilogue touched on where their relationship was heading. I am now looking to get Webber's other books and see if those are as good as Easy and I really have no doubt that they are.

My next post should be up soon. Sooner if I can figure out which book to write about next. :)
